We're seeking a future team member for the role of Data Scientist, Non-Financial Risk to join our Transformation and Analytics team in Pune, India. The Transformation and Analytics team leads the design and implementation of data analysis solutions to enable continuous and forward-looking risk management capabilities and inform risk intelligent strategic decision making. The Data Scientist will help to accelerate the digital transformation of risk management function through innovation, problem identification and solution delivery. The role will drive the development and impact of a portfolio of advanced analytics use cases augmenting a range of key risk and control indicators across Non-Financial/Operational risk components, using classification, NLP, network analysis and anomaly detection techniques. This role will require a well-rounded set of skills in programming, statistics, ML, experience working with unstructured data sets, strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Delivers data projects from inception to delivery partnering with functional and subject matter experts to support risk identification, measurement, and mitigation
  • Consults with businesses to identify needs and translates those needs into solutions through machine learning. Develops comprehensive data/technical specifications that bridge business/product needs with system design/deliverables
  • Identifies processes that could be improved, or problems that could be solved by applying ML, automation, and other techniques, proposes innovation ideas and use cases
  • Leverages advanced data analytics techniques to derive insights from internal and external data sources, particularly non-financial risk data sets including operational risk, third party risk, data risk and technology risks, to deliver business value with limited guidance
  • Collaborates with a cross functional team between Risk and Technology to productionise analytics solutions in line with business needs
  • Communicates effectively with technical and business staff. Develops reports, and prepares and delivers both informational and decision-seeking presentations
  • Stays abreast of company practices relevant to data science products
  • Maintains knowledge of company's total computing environment and planned changes in order to develop meaningful data science products
  • Be an ambassador of data analytics, assist with developing and delivering a strategic analytics platform, train, and support users to increase the impact of analytics solutions/tools
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any other related fields. A Master's degree is preferred
  • Strong background in Statistics
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • Expertise in Natural Language Processing is highly preferred
  • Expertise in Graph Network Analysis is highly preferred
  • Fluency in big data query and programming languages such as Python or R
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements, explain technical approaches and drive adoption of analytics solutions
