About this role

Global Market Intelligence ("GMI") sits within Corporate Strategy and is responsible for analyzing BlackRock's competitive landscape and providing data and insights to business teams across BlackRock to help shape critical thinking.

Based in Gurgaon (India), the main objective of this role is to support the development of the team's Market Intelligence technology platform. This includes database management, automation efforts and MI reporting, using technology tools (e.g., Tableau, Python, SQL).

This role will also support the curation and communication of qualitative insights (e.g., 3rd party research) and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a global function and a broad network of peers throughout BlackRock.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate and drive design and development of dashboard reporting (e.g., Tableau) and other technology tool integration
  • Collaborate with team members to enable more informed strategic decisions using GMI's existing tools
  • Design entirely new visualizations, bringing new tools online to support evolving data requirements and initiatives
  • Support database development, maintenance and innovation relating to the GMI data platform
  • Lead all aspects of suite of existing data extraction, transformation & load (ETL) processes
  • Log & triage data/ETL issues, serving as main point of contact for issue resolution
  • Write and optimize queries, implement indices and other structures to support data needs of the team
  • Seek efficiencies by using automation tools (scripting, models and macros) or documenting where opportunities for process improvements exist
  • Analyze data and industry trends across the global asset management industry, applying a wide range of data sources, including asset management market flows, public filings, and news articles
  • Produce on-going reporting and summaries for internal use across various business teams


Qualification and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or above with 2-4 years of professional experience in business intelligence (Financial Services or related field is a plus)
  • Professional experience with Tableau data visualization software (any other related tool is a plus)
  • Experience with SQL & query writing, data manipulation, scripting via Python; database administration experience preferred
  • Experience working with large sets of data
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in summarizing analysis into succinct written briefs/presentations as a narrative
