Business Unit Overview:

The Performance Measurement & Attribution team delivers the outcome and interpretation of all portfolio and benchmark return analytics in Blackrock. This includes generating analytical outcomes, supporting investment teams through product level support, acting as a centralized source and control of performance for the firm, and building tools and automated solutions.

Servicing the needs of the global client base, the demands for accurate, timely & relevant performance data is central to many of the organizational core objectives. Products covered are the spectrum of Mutual Funds, ETF's, segregated clients and investment asset classes including Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Equity and Alternative including derivatives.

Background and Development Value:
The Performance Measurement & Attribution team in India is a vital component of the firm's performance analytics ecosystem, covering the entire suite of activities for the business unit. The team collaborates closely with internal partners and team members across Americas, EMEA, and APAC. We are looking for an empathetic and motivational leader for this dynamic and continuously evolving team!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage team members and other global resources to deliver high quality and meaningful portfolio performance insights. Manage expectations/priorities while coordinating to resolve obstacles.
  • Partner with functional and regional management to grow the value proposition of the team. Provide transparency into team's accomplishments and capabilities as well as challenges.
  • Lead and empower innovation. Challenge the status quo for ways to achieve better results. Help connect members for better collaboration across functions. Take calculated risks with appropriate safeguards.
  • Build trusting relationships with team members, promoting their career growth that is aligned with individual aspirations. Provide support and opportunities for success.
  • Continuously learn and provide thought leadership on concepts related to performance analytics and the industry
Qualifications/Experience:
  • 15+ years of experience in Performance and Attribution related function within the Asset Management industry, with experience managing a team of teams. Dedication and passion for growing a strong team.
  • Demonstrate strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, working comfortably with members across various region/culture.
  • Deep experience with understanding sophisticated problems, breaking them down into workable components to drive towards a reasonable resolution for all.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize different team responsibilities, with a positive mindset and strong sense of ownership. Sharp control/risk mitigation mentality with comfort in raising issues.
  • Proficiency in performance concepts and tools, or fund accounting, a plus. Appreciation and experience in applying technology for scale and efficiency, a plus.
