Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced reporter, based in India, to cover corporate finance and distressed debt and follow the most interesting stories from primary issuance to secondary-market. Joining a team that operates across Asia, you will break news on how India's biggest companies are financing themselves and how they're coping with one of the world's worst bad debt loads. You will keep readers up to date with this-just-in developments on corporate restructurings and leverage sources for scoops on significant corporate funding plans in bond & loan markets as well as on broader trends in borrowing and the cost of money in India. You will also develop sources and stories and write authoritatively about the market for specialists and general readers.

We'll trust you to
  • Target interviews with some of the world's biggest investors to break news and get right to the heart of the biggest stories on their plans in India
  • Build a source base across the credit industry from traders and investment bankers to lawyers and restructuring advisers
  • Generate analysis covering both fast-paced developments in short format, as well as trends and insights in long-form stories
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues on the Credit Team and others throughout News, including digital platforms.
  • Be innovative and creative in writing and formatting stories

You'll need to have:
  • A minimum of 5 recent years of experience in financial journalism
  • Experience working in real time news environment
  • Experience covering different asset classes as a reporter
  • A track record of breaking news in credit and other financial markets, including experience with secondary markets coverage

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Exceptional writing, editing and headline skills
  • Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure
  • Ability to generate exclusive, breaking news as well as informative feature stories
