The role is for an individual with experience in risk concepts within the Group Risk Identification Framework and Risk Appetite team as part of the Enterprise Risk Group. Our team seeks to capture risks spanning across all risks categories throughout the group, offering an outstanding insight on the risk profile across Credit Suisse, the team works directly with Divisional CRO`s and the Group CRO teams to layer on Risk Identification techniques on Credit Suisse's already long established risk management processes. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to work in a small team with a direct relationship to various senior business partners
Key areas of focus:
  • Second Line of Defense risk management within Group Enterprise Risk, helping understand, identify and co-ordinate across business and asset classes, the key risks impacting the Group and Divisions
  • Supporting the team in several key inter and intra department relationships and driving the planning and delivery of Risk Identification updates to various key governance committees and structuring the message delivered to senior executives.
  • Close interaction with the business (1st Life of Defense), risk authorities and senior CRO executives
  • Facing key partners across 2LoD and 1LoD (e.g. Divisional ERMs, Market, Credit, Treasury, Finance & Front Office) in identification of risks impacting Divisions, Legal Entities and Group and ensuring delivery of high quality materials for Senior Risk committees and Regulators
  • You will be gaining high-level understanding across various metrics and concepts used in Stress testing and Risk Appetite dimensions (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Liquidity Risk, Model risk, Strategy, Capital risk)
  • You will prepare high quality presentations for a diverse audience spanning from senior risk management to key support departments
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis and deep dives on key risk metrics across all asset classes to improve efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to build and maintain a firm-wide Risk Identification framework to identify Group material risks and vulnerabilities to be used as inputs into various downstream processes (e.g. Scenario Design process, Risk Appetite setting, ICAAP, FINMA Pillar 2 Capital Adequacy dialogue).
  • Actively collaborate extensively with bank wide partners particularly other Divisional, Risk Functional class, Group Stress testing and Risk Appetite in accurately identifying and assessing key vulnerabilities and risk concentrations for the firm.
  • You will also be required to analyze reports, discuss with business partners across Risk functions and understand and extract key data relating to most material risks for Risk identification and assessment purposes.
  • Understand and interpret Quantitative and Qualitative assessments on individual risks across all risk types, there impact, drivers, emerging or declining nature for inclusion in the risk inventory.
  • Take responsibility for the documentation of the Processes and Procedures of the Risk Identification project to a very high standard suitable for regulatory submission and cascading down to Divisions and Legal Entities
  • Complete functional specifications and other analysis documentation
  • Development of suitable soft infrastructure solutions to streamline the RIAF process.
  • Establishing credibility with all levels of the Management.
  • Preparing presentations for Senior Management, Regulators and Risk Workshops.
  • Operating within our Conduct & Ethic standards, being aware of operational risk, raising when any identified with a focus on striving for operational excellence and working with the wider team on constant improvement.


You Offer
  • You hold degree-level education (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline - postgraduate qualifications within relevant fields. CFA, FRM, PRM would be an added advantage
  • Passion about delivering the best results for Credit Suisse
  • You have excellent business partner management skills with ability to communicate effectively with senior SMEs across the bank.
  • You have an understanding of broad Risk Measurement Frameworks, Pillar 2 stress testing, Risk appetite, Market Risk (e.g. VaR), Internal Capital models such as Economic Risk Capital, Credit Risk management and Operational risk management
  • You have knowledge of other areas such as Liquidity Risk or Capital Management which would be useful
  • You are experienced in leading Cross functional Projects, preferably in the area of Risk
  • You have deep understanding and experience within the risk or control department of a large bank
  • You have strong product knowledge in either one product area or good product knowledge across a variety of products
  • You possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • You are able to operate autonomously and coordinate to drive a project/task forward and produce an end state product that can be presented to senior management and regulators with minimal required supervision
  • You are ambitious, dedicated and hardworking and also have the ability to multitask and prioritize matters effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ideally, you have experience in wider Risk/Control Framework improvements or previous experience in an Enterprise Risk function
  • High level of integrity, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards, deliver high quality and accurate outputs with a positive can-do attitude
